Unsurprisingly Garmin says rest day so i'll do a few miles around Manchester later and rest day tomorrow instead bar a bit of walking to and from stations.
Also be proudly wearing my Eagles hoodie today Just finished watching it this morning as not stayed up for superbowl for a number of years now.

Rob - impressive doing housework/run/housework yesterday. You're still doing fairly well with your mileage despite being busy.
Hope you find your mojo for the masters work. Can you defer starting it for a little while perhaps?
Rcouture - well done on a good productive long run. Good luck for Sunday. It's quite early to be peaking but perhaps just see how you feel on the start line, taking weather conditions etc into consideration too.
WP - the tabs I have at the moment are For Goodness Shakes, which are really nice and palatable. I must have picked them up cheap somewhere. I'm not sure why I'm buying more as I don't run long enough to need electrolytes for training. 🤣
Keith - are you working in Manchester or on a jolly?
8 miles today. No ice although I set off cautiously as it was cold enough and roads were wet. Cold wind on the way home with some cold rain.
Saw a dead chicken at the side of the road.
Gym later.

Both as it's union meeting Also means no need for day off today for superbowl watching as it's 3 hours travel each way and a 9-5 meeting so get plenty of hours in.

Rcouture-It is the most consistent I've been for a while,Nov and Dec I did about 9 weeks all in the 30s,I felt I could do more but didn't want to push, but think that gave me a good base to step up now. Shades-Good to see you could get out again. Can't fit a run in today,so did some exercises before work instead. I'm trying to find a marathon in July/August to take adavntage(hopefully) of my fitness after Comrades. OH has decided she wants to do Boston next year so I want to try and get a time so we can do it together.

Ian, that would be great for you both to do Boston. I have the Boston qualifying times firmly imprinted in my brain, and it’s an aim for the back end of this year, with a hope of being able to do 2027s race. We shall see!

Big G-Don't forget they moved 5 mins for 2026,not that it mattered as cut off was over 5 under anyway.I would have to get 3:15 to be safe I think, reckon I could get that this year if I keep going safely.

I kept run short as RHR back up +8 and kept HR in the right zone so 30 minutes.Hoping this helps and back down again tomorrow. But to say I am fed up is an understatement.
Shades: Nice running but shame about the chicken!

Keith - excellent planning of your trip.
Ian - it's still a novelty for me to see that you're doing your exercises religiously 😉
Does the window for qualifying times for Boston close at the end of August?
IOM is the 10th August, it's undulating but plenty of downhill to make up for the uphills. My Garmin has the elevation of IOM as 792 feet, so not that bad. I've PB'd there and it's likely to be a lot cooler than the UK mainland in August. Plus you'll have all that hill training and Comrades done.
Big G - what's the Boston qualifying time for your age group?

It was luck really albeit i'd of used my flexi leave balance for today anyway.
Have a 5k or so route planned onto my watch for later on. Aiming to go to hotel sort out room payments for all of us then check in if i can otherwise i'll nip out shopping for a bit then head back and change to go for my run.
