Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well running home went well...... Seem to have a somewhat sore hamstring which was painful enough walking back let alone running. Was getting rather cold too being it was pretty dark when i got back.

Yes can enter on the day but it's open still online. Looked at forecast after that post this morning and it was very much a er yeah skip as wet and windy with 50 mph gusts. With hamstring i'll see what the hell is going on there first.

Big G-We did that for Seville last year from Birmingham, hotel was literally across the road.
7m today, legs felt more tired than yesterday, just a run to tick off and move on.
No weight loss this week here,we have had a couple of leavers in work so lots of pudding going around,so to be expected,no gain though.

Keith - ouch, hope that's not serious.

Ian - that's not unusual, I often take my rest day 2 days post race. You'll be fine for today's run
Staying the same with your weight is good, especially as there have been extras to eat.

Taking another rest day today, another poor night with my back but it's improved from yesterday. I've reluctantly had to cancel gym circuits too.

Very frustrating about your back Shades. Any idea what may have triggered it again, or just one of those things?

Scary about your heart there, WP. Hopefully just a one off.

6 miles today in heavy rain, but less wind today. Didn’t feel great really - quite ploddy and slow! But all being well that’s the last run in the cold and wet for a week or so. Rest day (travel day) tomorrow, and then I may do a short run Friday and/or Saturday.

Tigg knows something is up. Case, bags downstairs, and his stuff disappearing into large bags, plus his food and water bowl cleaned and he’s eating out of a plastic bowl. He won’t leave my side at the moment. He’s a big dog, but has this knack of standing so close that I can’t see him, and I then invariably accidentally stand on him!

There’s a young lad going Seville from Trotters. He’s done a 1:16 Half in the recent past. Hopefully he hasn’t cooked himself though as he has been commentating on niggles, and feeling exhausted etc. I think there are 8 or 9 Trotters doing the race and a few non-runners coming along as well.

Meant to say, it’s travel insurance renewal time again. I’m okay for Seville but for future insurance I have an issue. I’m awaiting a scan, which is a precaution following a health check, but because I then have to check the ‘awaiting tests’ box, no one will quote me online! I’m going to have to ring them up I think and expect a hefty price jump, even though I’m currently hopeful the tests will come back clear.

Big G - I have a weak back since my sciatica so I tend to manage it fine by just being a bit cautious. But every now and then it just niggles a bit more, usually as a result of tossing and turning in bed one night which sets it off, it's calming down now again.

Dog are so perceptive and Tigg obviously wants to go wherever you and OH are going.

That's a good turn out for Seville for the Trotters. Is it the first marathon for the 1:16 runner?

That's annoying about your travel insurance. Can you hold on the annual policy until after the scan or have you more trips planned soon.? Or take out a shorter term policy until scan done.

I was just going to post.I am fine just fatigued and although dressed to run did not.I have been for walk as needed to do some things . I am thinking maybe post virus fatigue and chest pain was part of that. I am having an easy day today in the hope all is well tomorrow.

Shades: Sorry to hear about back niggling again.

Big G have a safe trip and a good run on Sunday.Animals are so tuned in when things are changed to normal routine. My cat acts like a dog and does the sneak up quietly and I step on his paws.

WP - that doesn't sound great. I've never heard that chest pain could be associated with post viral but I honestly don't know.

Maybe a call to the doctors to see if they advise getting a check up?

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
