6+ hilly miles today, a lung busting 518 feet. My quads were sore, going uphill and going downhill, not the easiest run. With all the work I'm doing on my quads I should end up with amazing quads, but I'd be happy if they protect my knees. 🤣 Cold wind again, but at least the wind keeps the frost away.

-2 here and I planned 6-8 miles 🤣 my legs would not work so 4+ miles for me. I am working hard on my legs with PT so must expect a harder run the next day.

Good running Shades.

WP - maybe you need to not plan a longer run the day after PT session. I've now put in a shorter distance on my training plan after my first leg session of the week and a rest day after the second.

I must be going soft in the head just entered a multi terrain marathon, 20% discount until 20/12/24. New race but I've done one of their races before, always well organised.

I led a Motley run today. 6 miles on the hilly trails near me. I recced it as part of a 10 miler I did the other day, as wanted to make it different to what we’ve done before (there are loads of trail options go there). The trees I clambered over the other day had been cut away making it fine to pass today.

Just in queue for Valencia. 22000th position, estimated wait of over an hour!

Wow a big queue lots eager for a winter sunshine race.

Yes will pencil 4 miles for Wednesday. Lots of trees had fallen in cycle track about four in the 2 miles I ran.

Community hubs were as of yesterday offering free food, hot water for flasks and to charge gadgets as some still without power! A warm place to be.

Vrap - you have unfinished business in Valencia so it has to be done. 😃

Big G-Hope you get a place,I decided against it as I'm just too busy this week.
Shades-Nice hilly run there.
That's what I attempted today, wasn't sure how it would be after 16 on Sunday.Did 6 loops so 9.6m with around 800ft.Last couple of loops I could feel my hamstrings getting worked, which is what I want.

Indeed, Shades :)

I don't really have a sense of unfinished business about the marathon, but when the priority entry email came through I had the money that London and Dublin had turned down burning a hole in the jam jar. And I have a much better idea of the lie of the city, how to get around and where to stay now.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
