Yes I think it's a good target and I can reassess closer to the time if training has gone better/worse than planned. If everything went great then 8 is achievable but I get the same medal for 8 as sub 9 so will decide closer.

Yes, and the weather may be a factor too. Hot and you might take another 30 mins so good to know if that happens you could still make your target time.

WP - he's working you hard, that PT of yours. All good though.

He really does I know on Tuesday he never corrected anything which is unheard of .It is usually little tweaks here and there.
The seated squat is all legs I slow it right down and all legs. The weights go up at a slow pace so you do not notice it so much. 55kg dead lift but the most improvement is upper body as shoulder healed. But I feel the glutes and hamstring with the rows with barbell no idea of weight but I really enjoy this exercise. We finish with Russian twists which I love much better than sit ups.
He did say I am only client that likes all the exercises....LOL

Good news on quads :)

WP - you're the perfect client for your PT. Great there were no corrections to form.

I'm still going to sign up for the gym technique masterclass, I expect it will start in the new year.

That sounds a worth while class and something to look forward to in the New Year.

I do think it is harder for people who go to gym and try to follow a plan they have made up to stay motivated.I have it easy really.

We have gym staff that will help and advise with form/technique and will write a personal dedicated plan for anyone that asks, free of charge.

But some just wander around doing a bit of this and that, others follow religiously some plan from their phone.

That's a great deal on the shoes. I will sign up for the annual delivery pass next time I shop with SF. I have no room for now for any new shoes. 🙁

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
