Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think knees are a mystery to us all fine one day then a little niggly the next.

Big G That is flat! I hate flat I like a mix of hills and flatter parts on a route.

Shades well done on run and gym+ stair master!!

WP - well done on your PT session too.

I do find the Stairmaster fairly challenging and I'm not yet relaxed when using it. I did increase the level today.

That is progress with stairmaster.

I noticed shoes which were 12 "drop are reduced to 10 in that article about shoes.

WP - Is that a shoe you use? 10 is still a fairly high drop.

Seems to be the trend, a lot of shoes have altered drop, usually accompanied by some additional stack in the forefoot.

Yes I noticed both mizuno wave ride and ghost from brooks so will stock up on both when I can.
Although mizuno never named shoes I knew which was wave rider.

That was well spotted with the Mizunos. Some of the shoes have changed so much they're virtually unrecognisable.

Good idea re the Christmas presents from OH.

I'm OK with 8mm so plenty to choose from for now.

My Cliftons are 5mm and I'm OK with them, but wouldn't run long in them. Well I'm not doing any long runs anyway 🤣

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
