WP - how confusing. I watched the BBC news and twice they clearly showed Wales and North Somerset/North Devon as red.

Anyway it's going to be very very windy.

I couldn't face going to Tesco this afternoon, it would be heaving. Let's hope I don't regret that.

I relented and went to Tesco this evening. Wasn't as bad as expected, just the traffic was heavy and slow. So don't have to go out in the morning now.

That sounds the best plan for Tescos.
Winds have picked up. Still awaiting OH but I imagine weather is the issue.

WP - Friday night, the traffic will be heavy and the M4 will be very slow. I expect a lot of folk will be travelling tonight rather than tomorrow. No doubt the Severn Bridge will be closed tomorrow as well so anyone going to Wales will travel tonight.

Just had a government warning on my phone about the storm.

Hope everyone is staying safe. Heard a couple of bangs during the night, has to be rough for me to hear anything as my flat is ground floor.

Rest day for me. I am supposed to go to the gym but it's upper body so can do most of it at home.

So far everything to have held up okay here. I was actually out last night for a meal with friends in Plymouth, but left earlier than planned and got home safely. Roads were clear, and as it had more or less stopped raining, the drive was okay. I got the warning on the phone at around 10:15pm as I was driving home, which was distracting!

Loads of parkruns cancelled here, obviously - ones amongst the trees/forest and ones by the coast. My local one last night said they were hoping to go ahead, but would confirm this morning. It is open with no trees, so in theory should be okay, but I guess they also take into account any risks of people travelling to the event.

Motley Xmas meal tonight.

Big G - the alert is like a demented screeching parrot. I got the alert at 7pm.

I'm glad I chose not to go out in the car this morning, although it seems OK here too.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
