9 hilly miles today, around 2/3 on trail. Nice running conditions today as it was cool but not too cold, and I was fine in a t-shirt and gloves. It’ll be a rest day tomorrow as it is an early start as I’m in Worcester all day, but hoping to get going again on Thursday.

WP - bad luck missing the bus. That's a tiring day you've had.

I would hate not to have my bath.

Big G - you're having a good start to your training week.

7 miles this morning, very cold again but just a couple of degrees warmer and my legs didn't go into shutdown because of the temperature. Quads fine until last couple of miles then right quad a little sore, that's not so bad as that's my 'weak' leg so good to know I worked that leg.

Tomorrow morning for my run it's supposed to be 13 degrees, yippee. I get so fed up of the cold weather.

That sounds like a good run you are building the miles nicely.

I am worn out and RHR +7 so going to rest today.
But have entered a Santa 5k for the 14th .I enter every year a bit of fun as weather along the prom can be unpredictable!

Hope we get warmer weather tomorrow as well :)

WP - your exhausting day yesterday obviously needs some recovery time, so take it.

Weather wise, looks like we'll be OK for a few days. By OK, I mean no frost.

OH is at a conference at Worcester rugby ground and I came up to have a look around. I did a marathon from the rugby ground….which didn’t go well! :)

Never been to Worcester centre before but it’s quite nice. Have been to the cathedral and there’s an old NT house and garden in the centre of town, so went around there as well. Just stopped at a nice place for lunch, and then I’ll go down to the river for a drink and some cake, and back over to pick OH up for 4pm.

Big G - I've done Worcester marathon a few times and have just entered the 2025 race.

Enjoy your cake

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
