Oh tell me about it the darn thing .You never know what it is going to be like from one day to another till it settles down. I think I have another 4 weeks with it.
Glad taste and eating going well hopefully the sense of smell will return.OH has only had Covid once and he lost his sense of smell it took a while to return.
Maybe the tiredness is you did more yesterday at home maybe housework etc? we think we are better and can do more and this brings on the tiredness.

Shades, I just can't lie on my back for long. My stomach gurgles loudly and then mucus collects behind my soft palate and makes me snore which then startles me awake. I have to lie on my front.

WP - I didn't do that much housework .😉
Loss of sense of smell doesn't bother me, I've got used to it now.
Cal - I don't like lying on my back either. Definitely can't lie on my stomach though.

Rcouture, you’ve certainly done the work. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Get into your stride, try and find a group to share the work, and I reckon you’ve got a good chance of cracking it. Regarding my foot, it does still make itself known on occasion, but I’ve not missed a run for several weeks due to it. I’m still being diligent with all the stretching etc, but for me it was the shockwave therapy that got me over the line with it and helped me get going again. I still feel I need to be careful, which is why I’ve been careful not ramping up the mileage too quickly. Physically, in terms of tiredness, legs etc, I feel I could have done more on quite a few of the weeks, but I don’t want to aggravate the foot. It’s still a balancing act!
Cal, that’s frustrating about that parkrun. Good on you got doing the extra distance and personally I’d still count it in my stats. Yes, Parke is a tough one. Off road, two very steep hills, plus a ramp up at the finish. It’s a lovely course though. Yes, if you’re ever down this way, Parke, Killerton, Sharpham, and even Haldon are all challenging and are my closest ones. But on the other side we’ve got Torbay (my local), Teignmouth and Exmouth that are very flat. Venturing into Cornwall there is Trelissick, Lanhydrock, and Mount Edcumbe that are all challenging! Even Eden Project, although tarmac, is not easy. The ones I’ve mentioned all feature high up in that list that Tim Grose publishes of hardest events.
Shades, good to read you’re starting to feel a bit better at last.
WP, annoying about that achilles. I had it quite bad about 11 years ago, and really I don’t know what it was that got rid of it - probably it was a combination of things. I just remember at one point realising it wasn’t there any more.
I got 10 hours sleep last night, which basically never happens. Obviously I needed it. Just the 23 miles this week, but that’s fine following last weekend. Hopefully I’ll feel refreshed tomorrow (I think I will) and get up to 40ish again next week. It’s been nice having a down week, but also I’m looking forward to cracking on for the next 5 weeks.

Big G: When mine went originally 20 years ago it took 9 years to be able to run on it again. But the flare ups just happen once a year and as you say they just go away.Although mine is always there but say a 2 on the pain chart.
Easy flat run over 3 miles over the Rec and park and fastest run in a while without trying. a slow first lap then it slowly got faster but elevation is 56ft compared to 250-400ft on various routes.
My week finished yesterday and 30 miles but two rest days.I would like the one rest day and see what happens.
Shades I sleep best on my sides but sleep on tum and back through the night.

Rcouture-I reckon you'll be fine next week, you've had an excellent block and should be happy and ready to go. WP-I suffered about 4 years with my achilles, that dreaded first step out of bed when you can tell if it's going to be a good or bad day.Still comes occasionally so I take a day or 2 off. Shades-Hope you start feeling better soon. Big G-You've been very patient with your recovery so hopefully it's paying off. Cal-Unlucky on the parkrun,at least you finished it. I went out for 7 this morning,BP is still higher than I'd like, and still got a bit of a headache, but a side effect of the medication is headaches so just putting up with it for now.

Cal well done for making up the distance, Thames Meander marathon I accidentally cut off a bit of the course, realised and ran past the finish and another 200 meters up the Thames and back to the finish to get the full distance.
Rcouture very impressive block of training, hard work done now the lap of honour
Ian positive you can still get out for a run, hope the headaches subside as that’s a bit cr@p
Big G, only been to alley pally for ice staking when I was a kid. It’s on my train line and have always considered going to the darts, just once for the experience.
WP well done on the 30 week, what do you mean by just the one rest day, want to fit extra mileage in?
Shades if it’s anything like here you should be able to dodge the showers!
Should have gone for a run yesterday but decided on housework and TV day, weather was awful this morning but managed to get out between showers 6 miles and 23 miles for a return to running week. Something to build on for the next few weeks.

Big G - did you wear your new Hokas at 100 club marathon? The Hokas seem to suit you and your PF well.
WP - hope that achilles let's you run that extra day this coming week. It's hard to build on the mileage when you have to take an unscheduled rest day.
Ian - good to see you back running your usual training runs. Hope you can relax this coming week and avoid any stressing about your BP.
Rob - it's sunny and dry here now. Rain stopped ages ago but I haven't been out.
23 miles more than me this week 😪, a good base for your Stevenage training.

Ian: That is exactly it you know how it will be from the first step out of bed! Hope your BP lowers and less headaches.
Rob:I normally have one rest day but this passed week I had to have two with Achilles. Nice mileage well done.Rain here but it was after 10am and light rain none of the heavy stuff they predicted for us.
Shades : I know it is so hard when it is so unpredictable. Did you go out for a walk or not feeling like it today. How is the head?

Shades, yes I wore those new Hokas at the event last weekend and I’ll be wearing them for NYC (and any runs I may do whilst I’m in New York). They’re currently on 39 miles and I’m keeping them for the event now. I expect when I come back, they’ll be bumped to training shoes as probably my other Hokas will be done by then.
