Big G - OK, let me know if you enter that December marathon.
Talking of race entries, DD entries seemed to have stalled. I'm sure it will fill eventually.
WP - good to hear your session went well.

Shades, it was Trotters committee last night and there was a bit of talk about local races as we were sorting out the club championships races for next year.
- Torbay half (now organised by a company) have moved their date and it clashes with one of our races, so we’ve had to move that, contact HQ etc to get date changed.
- That Cornish company who are doing that half/full at Haldon are clashing with another local, club race.
For the club champs we really try and support other local clubs, and basically try and avoid companies. In fact, we actively contact other clubs and encourage them to add our races to their club champs, or if clubs attend one of our races en masse, we try and make sure we have a large team that turns up at one of their races.
But these companies don’t contact the clubs, as they don’t seem to care what else is on. It’s a shame really.
All that is nothing to do with DD entries, but when looking at races for Club Champs it does seem to get harder each year to fill it. Having said that I see Taunton Half is coming back in 2026, although I’ve not heard anything about if the full is retuning.

Big G - I think we were lacking a local half marathon in the autumn but annoying it clashes with one of your club races.
I don't understand why race organisers don't work together to maximise race entries by not clashing with other local events. I see Boston and Norfolk marathons are clashing again next year.
Would love to see a marathon back at Taunton, unlikely though as the previous RO putting that time limit kept entries low. So unless it's an experienced club/marathon runner involved in the organisation they won't think there's a market for it.
The half used to have a lot of entrants that will be popular.

Just Googled Taunton half, date is 1st March 2026. No mention in a marathon, as expected. At first glance looks to be the same organisers as Taunton 10k.

Rob - Good news on the knee. Newport marathon is next up for me in April. Think I’ve a half in February as well as a tube up.
Shades - I’m always up for adding mileage but I don’t know where I’d find the time for more than what I manage in peak weeks. I think the only flex I have now is getting up to higher mileage earlier (which I’m doing) or more intensity (which I’m always wary of). I’m hopeful that maybe a decent block of not doing too much different might get me over the immediate target of sub 3?
Big G - I got a very good deal on an epix pro a while back from a retailer going under. I like to nerd out on metrics so enjoy it (unless they tell me I’m losing fitness) and the amoled screen with the map is really good. As you say though, certainly nothing essential.
Just under 9 into the office. Freezing wind along the Thames.

My SF delivery is due tomorrow say Royal Mail. Off course i am walking to work and running home as that is what i have planned. Today i'll shortly be jumping on the bike for some Zwifting. Stage 5 will be weekend though as i'll be going for the middle option which is 19 miles.

Rcouture - I don't know where you'd find the time either to spend more time running. I was only asking as you're already at 48mpw.
You know that sub 3 is there and within your capabilities.
NNE wind here, feels cold. No frost tonight though so I can do my hilly route in the morning 🫤

Keith - OK, you'll let me know once you've sorted your 2025 races. 😊
Unscheduled rest day for me, had a bad night with my back and RHR up 7 this morning. Hoping the RHR is just a blip, not usually affected by a restless night with a niggling back.
