Ian I hope you can find some 1080 in the version before they altered the shoe.

They have arrived they are really soft material wise and not hard like Adidas Boston boost the half a size smaller works well so you were right Shades. They feel more comfortable but wider across toe box.I know I won't know till I take them out for a run but so far all good.

I tried heel inserts but like you never got on with them and not comfortable adding them to solve a issue but maybe just me.

WP - it's hard enough finding the right shoes never mind the added dilemma of the right size. 😨

Cotty - indeed, it's never too late...

When you find your perfect shoe there's a brief honeymoon period and all is well. Then they make changes to the shoe and once again the search begins for your next perfect shoe.😭

I had this exact thing with the 1080s with the flared heel tab. I loved that shoe, and I ran numerous marathons in it, did a lot of my training in it, used it on roads and trails etc. I even had the wider width version for Dartmoor Discovery and also marathons, and the regular version for shorter training runs. And then they changed the design….

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
