No I will leave the 1088 alone I need 10mm as a minimum and 13mm seems to be really good for Achilles.

WP - I think that's a good idea for now, 8mm might be a bit risky.

Rcouture-I would rather have your heat than the 25-40mph winds we are forecast for fleetwood tomorrow, not going to be amazing as a lot of it is along the front.
OH would have been on for a good PB I reckon as she's flying at the minute.

Good luck Ian, that will be tough. I did the marathon there on a not particularly windy day and there was still a noticeable breeze off the sea.

Shades, I am pleased with the week, although a) zero cycling this week and b) I was hoping for around 45 miles, but it was 40 again. Can’t complain at that based on where I was a few weeks ago, but that was around my limit this week. I’d planned about 10 yesterday but wasn’t feeling it, so cut it short yesterday.

Rcouture, that’s some going keeping the training doing on the treadmill like that. Well done!

Big G - that's impressive training as you've had other stuff going on which can drain you mentally and physically.

Yes, there is lots going on, lots to do. Dad’s funeral is Wednesday afternoon and from a running point of view I’m still hoping for 5 runs but if that doesn’t happen and/or the weekly mileage is a bit less next week I’m fine with it. I’ll just play it by ear next week.

Ian - nothing you can do about the weather.

My friend is doing Garstang next weekend, I think she said it was a bit hilly which I know you usually avoid.

But I suppose you're working next weekend anyway

Just waiting until it gets a bit lighter for my run.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
