Great improvement in pace Big G, can't beat HR training. You thoroughly
deserve it, you've been so patient.
I've done an hour in the gym, mostly legs/glutes. If I suffer with DOMS as I did after Saturday's upper body session it's unlikely I'll be able to run tomorrow, we'll see.

Shades, thanks. I do feel I’ve been patient and have held back sometimes when I felt I could have upped the mileage, for example. Even transitioning from 4 to 5 runs a week wasn’t rushed. I don’t actually feel like I’m marathon training really though, as most I’ve done is 10.5, but it is what it is! I’ve got the 100MC AGM in September, which probably won’t be pleasant but at least with that one if the foot does make itself known I can easily step off the course. The aim is still NYC and if foot is playing up at the AGM, I do need to keep that main aim in mind.

Big G - at least the AGM marathon will give you a long run and perhaps remove the feeling that you need to do any other runs longer than 10/12 miles if you don't want to stress the foot.

Shades: I think you are recovering better than I did as your RHR is normal even if high end of normal. So I imagine you will be back sooner than I was.I am still pretty fatigued take today PT session then shops with OH( I lose the will to live as he is so slow ) and by the time I get back I need a nap usually for an hour!

WP - my RHR is normal, not even high end normal now, so I know virus isn't lingering and I feel fine. But running wise, no energy at all, legs tired and heavy and aerobic fitness seems to have completely disappeared. I'm back to complete beginner with the Hadd training.
I did better in the gym today but only did 3 sets of 10 instead of my usual 5 sets of 15. I kept all weights low.
But for now I'm just relieved to be back training and with HR training I've learnt to be patient.
I think shopping with others can be exhausting and frustrating at the best of times. 😉

Running rest day.
As predicted I have DOMS from yesterday's gym session, not as bad as the upper body DOMS I had over the weekend. But today it's primarily DOMS in my hamstrings, I suspect from the deadlifts I did yesterday, haven't done deadlifts for ages.

I love deadlifts we do them on a Tuesday.G is still feeling awful post Covid he is young, fit and healthy so affects us all in different ways.
My RHR spiked high yesterday so back down to high end of normal so going to take it easy and see what miles I can do.

WP - I love deadlifts too but haven't been able to do them with my sciatica. My preference is the sumo deadlifts to fire up the glutes but yesterday I just did Romanian deadlifts.
That's not good G is still feeling ill post Covid.

I do RDLs - hip flexion has always been something that doesn't feel great to me (even when young, I'd bend over with straight legs to pick things up rather than squat down because it feels more natural). Did some yesterday. My hip has been feeling clunky the last two days so not sure about that progress. It's being very stubborn.
Still looking to offload that Amsterdam place - couple of people in my club showed interest but then backed out. Sure no one here wants it?
