Did Alloa last year and didnae particularly enjoy it, the long straight along the hill foots especially. Loch Katrine is a good, hard half though.

What about the Balloch one, does that sell out quickly? It seems to be a much smaller affair but its easier to get to for me.

I really liked Alloa, perhaps because I got a PB. Its a perfect sized event; big enough so you to have someone to run with, but not too big so no congestion. The long straight bit is a bit boring but it helped with my PB attempt.

I am with you damo. It was that long straight that nailed my pb. 2nd in 3 attempts there.

One of these years there's going to be a strong westerly wind, and that straight will be a right bugger - it's been pretty calm last few years, and considering it's March in Scotland then the luck can't continue.

I've done Skye, right steep hill within the first mile, undulating until about 9, hill from there until 10, then blast the three miles downhill to the finish.
