My Skye time was about a minute slower than Alloa, if that helps. Stornoway is a good half, as is the Barrathon, Barra is really tough though.

Stornoway is lovely. Not easy to get a good time on though. Not hilly as such but "varied". First half road through town with a good chance of a headwind (in every direction!). Second half off road, park trail, undulating through Lews Castle grounds. I was probably 2-3 mins slower than a flat road marathon. G

I enjoy the island half marathons, Mull is good also. Doing Tiree next year, anyone done that?

I did Tiree this year. Lovely scenery but a bit of a slog between 6 and 9 miles if the wind is from the west (which it usually is!) and you probably do about a mile and a half on the beach between the start and end sections. Pretty well organised though

I'm doing Tiree half next year. Tiree is just stunning, went there for running holiday this year and then back in September for the Ultra.

Thanks Ally-C, HappyG and Ian - I guess I first have to figure out what type of event I want to do (pancake, scenic, tough...) and then see what race fits that best. Too many options and not enough 'free' weekend.

Is anyone running the kelpies 5k at the weekend? Or did anyone run it last year? I won 2 places and a whole load of supernova running gear. I forgot I had even entered the competition 😆

So is the Tom Scott 10 the flattest around?
