Really strong winds again here today, putting paid to my plan of doing an early 7 or 8 mile run. I believe the winds are due to ease this afternoon, so may get out then but as we have to pick our granddaughter up from school and take her to judo it might be cutting it a bit fine.
Good luck with Saltwell 0061, the forecast looks even windier for the weekend. We have a 4 mile run in Chopwell woods on Sunday and are keeping fingers crossed it won't be cancelled due to high winds.
Hope your eye test went well WtnMel and that no new lenses are required yet, I'm still recovering from the shock of the cost of mine. Good that your feet are none the worse for your ramble yesterday (fuelled by Yorkshire pudding the previous evening?)
HS No need to apologise, I'm often days behind in my posts too. This is an especially busy time of the year for us all, no need to add to the stress of Christmas with concerns about missing posts. That was a great parkrun on Saturday, and breaking the 70% WAVA barrier too!

Aquarius - I follow someone on here called Ness. I noticed she did an 8ml run in the wind this morning at 6am. She was back home before I'd even got up. She's obviously well 'ard Anyway, hope the winds decrease so you can get out later. Will report back later on the results of my eye test at lunchtime. At present, I'm on 'parcel duty' as Margaret has popped into town but is expecting one to arrive (she said she'd be back before I have to leave the house 11:45am. No, no Yorkshire pudding because there wasn't enough beef left over for a meat & two veg dinner, so Margaret did a beef risotto instead.
I knuckled down and wrapped the xmas presents yesterday to take to my Mum tomorrow - figured it was worth doing it to save having yet another thing to do today. I'm going to attempt to post a present to my son while I'm in the village. Not from me - I'm getting him an Amazon voucher - it's from my Mum, who thought he was down over xmas. I'm expecting the queue to be out of the door again at the post office so it could be a long wait.

I'm falling behind again, as chaos in the SO Region. No water in the taps. The promised water stations haven't been set up, and people like me on the Priority Services Register haven't received our promised deliveries of water bottles.
Luckily, I went for my run before the water cut off. I did an interval session with Mike along the marina, comprising 5 x 100 5 x 200 and 4 x 400 metres.
I've got another doctors appointment tomorrow, so won't be running.

Hillstrider - sorry to hear about your current problems .. hope they get fixed soon and lucky you could manage an interval session with Mike before the water got cut off. Hope the doctor's appointment goes okay.
Postscript to my earlier post - the eye test showed there had been no change since 2yrs ago, so no need to think about new glasses. And there was hardly any queue at the post office (just 3-4 people), so my younger son's present got sent off okay. Whether it arrives before he heads off to his Mum's is a different matter!

WtnMel, it could be Saturday before water is 100% restored. I've put a couple of buckets in the back garden to catch the rain. Good news that you didn't have to change your glasses.

HS Goodness me, no water? That's awful, I hope it gets sorted out before Saturday. I was just listening to the Today programme this morning when they were discussing the rises in water rates - bit of a joke if they can't even get water to people on the priority register when something like this happens. Well done for your interval session yesterday, and I hope your doctor's appointment goes well today.
WtnMel Good news about your eye test, and lucky you didn't encounter a huge queue at the post office when you took your parcel. I hope you find your mum well when you visit her today.
As the wind had dropped a bit this morning I took advantage and went for a run. It was bitterly cold, just 1 degree, but the biting wind gave a wind chill of minus 3 degrees. It's a while since I had such a miserably cold run, and to top it off Garmin packed in after 4 miles. At the junction that usually shows I've run 4 miles it only showed 3.8, I kept glancing at the screen and at 3.95 miles the screen went black and wouldn't come back on. I tried restarting it a couple of times but each time it just gave me the option to restart, then when I selected that option it switched itself off. I'm sure this has happened before, but can't remember exactly when. Strangely when Steve got back from his run he had also had Garmin issues, his watch kept changing to a different screen by itself. Weird. When I downloaded my run on Garmin Connect, via Garmin Express, I got a message to say Express had quit unexpectedly. Once I got back in I wanted to make a note about the actual mileage I'd done but found I couldn't use the number keys on my laptop (although they worked on other sites). Steve and I both have Garmin 45s so I'm wondering if the 45 has some sort of bug that's causing these odd things to happen.
Present wrapping today, then a spot of babysitting this evening.

Popping in briefly as I'm seeing my Mum but have popped to the common room while the carers are here ..
Aquarius - you can always plot your route on here if you are ever having problems in future and need to know the mileage you did.

My water came on in the middle of the night, so I've been catching up all day. Most important was a shower, before anything else. It was such a relief to be able to just turn on a tàp, instead of opening yet another bottle, for routine household tasks.
I did the usual Friday Farmer's walk this morning. It seems that everyone has started their Christmas shopping early. I was in the supermarket just after 8am, and it was already very busy.
I'm not parkrunning tomorrow, as the Sarahs and Mike are away. I will do a virtual parkrun in the forest instead.
I hope to be back to normal posting tomorrow, and keeping up with you all.

I decided against doing a parkrun this morning and ran an easy pace 4.12 miles on roads. It was lucky that I wasn't parkrunning, as I felt a sharp pain in the front of my right knee whilst running up a hill. I walked up the rest of the hill, and jogged the remainder of the way home. It feels ok at the moment.
