So sad. RIP Swittle. He was the first Fetchie I met IRL
But what a testament to the power of an online community and Fetch in particular. That his online friends noticed he was missing and the webmaster was able to alert police. Fetch is amazing. (The site I meant, but Ian too)

Sad, sad news. Like so many, I never met him, but lived vicariously on Crosby beach through his blogs. I will be thinking of him next time I am running at the coast.

I don’t really know what to say having just heard the news from Northern
Swittle was a big part of Yorky with us. Part of the original gang and an amazing supporter for me and those who still run the event….
He was also a huge influence and a great motivator for the streaky bacon group keeping me aloft many a time
I knew him well virtually as many of us did. I would like to call him someone who made things better. He was a massive support a number of times and I loved his blogs about his nighttime runs and the beach at Crosby
I hope he didn’t suffer and I wish him gods speed
This Yorky will involve a couple of miles in his memory that’s for sure
What a gent
Rest well fella And thank you

I'm stunned. A true gentle gentleman. Always had the right word to encourage and to paint pictures of his small part of the world.

He’ll be very much missed. I met him at the Trimpell 20 a number of years ago and he was so friendly and lovely. I’m very sad he’s gone
