One of the very best of Fetchies, always had a positive or helpful word. Sadly missed.

Can’t say more than everyone else has said before.
Hopefully he’s in a land of never ending beach runs

Nadders (aka monsenb1)
I first met Swittle at the finish of the Northumberland Coastal Run in 2011, the pictures were our most recent meeting at Crosby parkrun almost 11 years later with Sushi and bigleggy. I always loved chatting with him, such a friendly guy.

This really is a shock. He was an ever present and so kind and generous in his support for everyone. Like others, I was always touched if he left a comment on my blog.

I am very sad hearing this news

I was very lucky to meet swittle in 2012. I travelled up to do Liverpool martathon and after speaking to him on fetch before hand I decided that before heading to Birkenhead I would go to see Gormleys Ironmen. I had no idea what time i would arrive and nor did Steve. Anyway as I left the beach after taking my photos who did I bump in to but him! At that point im he was streaking (running daily !!) so I suppose there was a good chance we’d see each other but we both marvelled at the chance of it. Such a lovely man. A great Fetchie. RIP swits

This is indeed a shock, I never met him in person but he felt like a friend, I thought of him as a friend and was always pleased to receive his somehow personal comments on my blog. I hope he knew how much we all cared about him.

Inspirational person I only knew through FetchEveryone - I felt he was up ahead of me, still running and enjoying life. Which is what I was aiming for.

About This Thread

Maintained by Lip Gloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx
