I agree with you, lin50. It is nice to have those three structured sessions each week. I might repeat it after I’ve finished this block.

I did a threshold session this morning, just about. I didn't run well but the 5k averaged 12:21 and the PJ pace suggested is 12:19 so I can tick that box :)

And there's me wishing I could run fast enough to get awarded a 9:30mm threshold pace by PJ :)

Well done everyone for getting your sessions done.
I'd run the same course as your initial benchmark run personally Ness like Lin said.

I like the PJ sessions for the same reason Lin and Ness.
I'm avoiding parkrun for now although I'd like to go back I'm still unsure and expect another lock down because of the stupidity of some people.

I will go with the same route. Thanks for the advice. Mr Ness has also asked me to consider the fact that we’re in an area that’s starting to see cases of the new variant so he’s worried about me going to parkrun yet. I’ll wait til things are a bit more settled.

I'm not sure about Parkrun either as much as we want to. My eldest has been stranded on 99 since last March.

Hypocritically we will be racing a 5k in a park Tuesday week. There will be fewer people and the start / finish is more open. It's on the old parkrun route, but starting at the top rather than the bottom of the park. That said I am sure there will be complaints for other park users.

The course is harder than my original time trail, but it will be light and wuth other runners so it balances out. That said last time I ran this race after the first 100m no one overtook me and I didn't overtake anyone.

Did intervals last night, paid for running the first 2 too fast.

Running them too fast is normal and very difficult to get right. If you managed to hold on for the other reps then you did very well and this bodes well for the finale.
