Wow, for someone in charge of the organisation, Starmer didn’t know a lot of things going on there Thought barristers were meant to be strong on details |

I dared to open that link, I'm not sure I buy the main contention that Starmer is as bad as Welby on the evidence given. The whole story is alarming and confusing, there's a lot of allegations there that may well be true, but if the leader of a party is personally responsible for the criminal actions of every mp and their partners, every single party leader would have had to resigned by now. The thrust of the article is because Starmer was involved in the "plot against Corbyn" that this makes him as bad...

Meanwhile in America. In the Senate, counting still continues. The Dem is now 29,000 behind with estimated 92,000 left to count. While unlikely it's now not impossible he wins it, if remaining ballots favour him 60%-40%. Previously certain he'd lost commentators admit some uncertainty now, even if 52-48 looks very unlikely. In the House, are you still awake? 219-211. 5 to go. 3 tilt Dem, 1 tossup (but with favourable demographic for Dems). 1 is Rep. Think the likely outcome is 220-215. Trump has confirmed I believe 2 nominations from the house, so it's effectively 218-215 if that is the case. (with 3 more mooted, but can't believe they will happen) The reason he is being blase about this is because he wants to make quick appointments and congress men/women have already been vetted. However it seems like he will preside over an advantage that just 2 people voting against will sink some measures. As a note, the congress stopped him withdrawing support from non-profit organisations last night as it required a super majority. The new house looks like it will be even closer. |

I’m not sure of the veracity of Skwawkbox to be honest @Chrisull though it does report to regulators as far as I’m aware. I’m not in a rush to necessarily share their links but it was at least relevant on this occasion. And just because it reports on stuff the mainstream don’t or won’t, doesn’t mean it’s not properly newsworthy.

Or if we're going to do mainstream media, according to the Daily Mail, Welby's mistake was as a result of his friendship with Harry and Meghan. (Paraphrasing because I've only seen a headline)
