Sadly I've verified that she did in fact tweet that.

Pure racism. Nothing more or less.

I'm one of those naive people who thinks a politician's character and their platform are linked. Elect bad people and they will do bad things. Elect good people... well, you get the idea. I admire Obama as a man and a human being. Ditto Biden. As for the likes of Trump, Cruz, Gaetz, Boebert, MTG...

Which isn't to say that good people can't do bad things or vice versa but in terms of "net net" results I think it holds.

Character is Fate, Rodney.

Anyway back to the politics.

Interesting that China has been forced to raise retirement ages.

A sign that the dramatic economic slowing there since the rapid rise in the 00-10s is now a likely permanent change and they are going to need structural reform to deal with it.

Every demagogue attracts acolytes who are even more extreme than they are.

Generally I tend to agree with this, although note that it is a broad generalisation that doesn't always hold.

And if course no one is perfect.

Excepting Jeremy Corbyn of course. (This may be a joke)

No not back to the politics Fozzy. Your language is way off, go on send a snooty post my way. There were so many better ways to handle it and you couldn't.

Even specifically on the topic of communication I’d say Biden and Harris are/were pretty decent (meaning Biden 2020 of course). Clinton seemed to lack a bit of empathy, though it’s hard to tell how much of that is real and how much the press coverage.

I have no idea whether Harris will turn out to be good bad or indifferent in practice, but she is intelligent, she is rational, she has a plan, and she supports the rule of law and democratic principles.

In these crazy times that means a lot and we shouldn't take it for granted.

The GOP want to foist an impulsive, undisciplined, ranting, delusional would-be dictator on 400m people and they don't care what they have to do to do it.

It isn't just Trump who wants to trash 250 years of constitutional democracy - it's an entire party and 40% of their electorate.

Clinton had huge baggage which really didn't help her.

Still won the popular vote...

Hillary's "crimes" were about one millionth the magnitude of Trump's but Dems (and Labour, incidentally) are always held to a higher standard...
