Apparently Priti Patel reckons that Tory MPs who aren't fully supporting Johnson are being self-indulgent and narcissistic. Surely immigration is the sincerest form of flattery.

Fields, I know where you’re coming from, but this trial has been made into entertainment. I make no comment on the guilt of either party, but live streaming the trial, and with various outlets on social media getting billions of views is depressing in a way, I think. I haven’t been following it closely, but it’s been hard to ignore it entirely, I think.

I actively avoided both.
What saddened me is the amount of posts that popped up on my social media last night by female friends (you've stopped believing me at this point) that were anti Amber Herd. What happened to women supporting women? Or at least not being horrible?
I'm not a fan of saying move on, but in this case it needs no more commentary, I'm aware that's what I'm doing BTW.
Weean, I saw that from Patel and neatly spat my coffee out. Talk about projection.

Weean - I thought that was a brilliant pun "Immigration is the sincerest form of flattery". And to put it in Priti Patel's mouth - wonderful!
There is definitely a worrying side to the Hollywood trial of Depp v. Heard - he has effectively "got away with domestic abuse" in the view of that trial. Whereas in the UK trial against Sun, the judge found 12 instances of abuse that were credible.
I think it's fine to ridicule the cost of the law, the scheduling of the judgement with the TV schedules (as reported on BBC by an American correspondent - I can find a link if challenged to!). But the substance of the complaint and the finding in favour of the alleged abuser, is... worrying and problematic.
I still think Johnson survives this NC vote and lasts another year.
Have a good holiday weekend everyone. As an anti-monarchist, I'll be working the normal days! Bah humbug!  G

I am no fan of the monarchy but I am being given and therefore taking a free extra holiday tomorrow. Sadly working today but there is cricket on the telly which is good as it appears to be the queen on every other channel
Will go for a run in the sun
