Just been for a run here and I'm surprised (and, I confess, a little pleased) to see there is virtually no bunting up anywhere I've been. I'm normally happier about these things but this one has, rather inevitably, taken on an unfortunate Brexity quality, giving voice again to small-minded English xenophobia.

Anyway, I'm doing some work at the moment for an American company who are probably not even aware of the existence of the bank holidays, so I'm working a lot of the time!

If power hadn't been wrested out of the hands of the monarchy they would still be claiming the divine right of Kings. Bollocks to them.

That was my first thought when I saw BBC headline. And "won't appear on balcony tomorrow..." clinched it! :-) G

1 in 3 Sainsburys workers say they regularly worry about putting food on the table.

That's awful. To work in a food shop and worry about being able to afford the goods you sell.

Have you say though, even before all this shit I've regularly seem Sainsbury fleeces pushing a trolley round Aldi.

ION article in the guardian claiming anti Johnson elements are trying to put a hold on NC letters in the hope he bombs at the by elections and removes doubt from the triggered vote.

Hope the vote is triggered a day or two before the elections and has a massive influence on the outcome.

I'm still betting on next week. Well, I would be if I was actually betting. There's plenty of momentum and everyone agrees he's a busted flush, it's just a matter of when.

Though, maybe rather than a busted flush, he's the turd that won't flush. Time will tell.

I actually think she could be worse than him. Which is like saying that rabies is worse than ebola. It may be true but neither is desirable.

Sadly my house has bunting out but I'm sporting my pro-republic t shirt throughout the weekend as a small private protest. My better half is joining in with the frivolities.
