Similar gender split to this thread too What are you proposing should be done about it then? Perhaps there could be a quota by sex (not gender) for posting to even it out? 🤔 (that is meant as a joke btw) |

I don’t have the answers I’m afraid. But aware of a bald statistic in the header.

The thread right wing checking in ! Although I consider myself left of centre the fact I don’t support Scottish independence places me as a nasty Tory. Lol

As predicted the Tories hold Brokenshires seat. Low turn out and slashed majority though. I'm glad it wasn't overshadowed by the nastiness is the Batley and Spen campaign. Despite the win will the Tories consider this a poor result? Something else, well two things, some of the right wing papers are blaming the authorities for the death of Arthur labinjo-Hughes, I find that appalling. Then a side bar on the guardian,, a Tory peer, that you've never heard of, has been accused of using a racial slur in an exchange of WhatsApp messages, which is bad obvs,, you read on and get to the line 'following a yachting collision off Monaco' what different worlds we inhabit eh. |

19,000 majority to 4,500 is a really bad indicator for Boris and the Tories.

The absolute figures are a bit misleading because turnout was about half of what it was last time. But to drop from ~64% to ~51% is a real kicking. Still a comfortable win, but an indication that the tide may be changing… The idiot driving the Reform party bus urging people to vote for Tice didn’t know where the boundaries were as he was repeatedly seen well into the neighbouring constituency. |

The idiot driving the Reform party bus urging people to vote for Tice didn’t know where the boundaries were as he was repeatedly seen well into the neighbouring constituency. What, into Bexleyheath and Crayford, where no doubt a number of OB+S voters work or socialise? Which also contains probably the main route into and out of the London Borough of Bexley for bus operators, and it's two main hotels, where, assuming the bus operator is permanently contracted and not operating out of a local depot, they will find a hotel with a car park big enough to accommodate a bus? I'm no fan of Tice of the Reform Party, but I'm not sure that the driver's necessarily an idiot. |

The Tories might be as much worried by the Reform party's vote as labour's? Dunno, but if RUK could carve out 10% of the Con's vote the T-bags may be in trouble. Although I am somewhat baffled that anyone could think the Tories "aren't right-wing enough" these days.
