Thank fuck Cummings is going, fingers crossed it comes to fruition. Think it was GlannR who described him as a goblin in a blog, very apt.

If Dom was the brains of the operation, they're pretty much in disarray, if they weren't already. You shouldn't need to be 'resetting' after such a short time. ah well. Boris will not be resigning, not in his nature to admit he has got things wrong. |

Signs in the US that other Republicans are getting uneasy about Trump's continued tantrum. I'd imagine 2 weeks time when Georgia recount is complete (and there's no way 14,000 is being overturned) disquiet will increase. The Electoral observers report yesterday saying no fraud completely at odds with Trump's fantasies. He has to have a gameplan other than continued destruction and it doesn't seem he has.

Walking down Whitehall this morning I overtook 3 people without paying any attention. As I got near Downing St half a dozen photographers came towards me and started clicking away. Too late I realised it was Cummings I’d walked past. I could have given the photographers some action shots! |

Cummings blog post referred to in Jan about him doing himself out of a job by Christmas:- "We want to improve performance and make me much less important — and within a year largely redundant." Not quite the same as "I will be gone by Christmas" but if you take those words at face value there was a project to be achieved by the end of the year which would see him out of a job. dominiccummings.com is the source - it was the post about recruiting "wierdos" etc. |

"At the moment I have to make decisions well outside what Charlie Munger calls my ‘circle of competence’ and we do not have the sort of expertise supporting the PM and ministers that is needed. This must change fast so we can properly serve the public." Correct. "I don’t want confident public school bluffers. I want people who are much brighter than me who can work in an extreme environment. If you play office politics, you will be discovered and immediately binned." Ironic. "I’ll have to spend time helping you so don’t apply unless you can commit to at least 2 years. I’ll bin you within weeks if you don’t fit — don’t complain later because I made it clear now." His hubris was always going to bring him down. Doubtless he will characterise his leaving as all part of his great plan. Fortunately for him he won't have to deal with the consequences of his great plan - that will be left to the public school numpties who bought into the Brexit bullshit. He sees "Brexit" as job done. He cares not one whit for the consequences. |
