Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Obama care or whatever it was called, a national health service is a socialist policy? I could definitely be wrong on that one.

Obamacare was just to the left of communism for a lot of people

Making people have health insurance so they wouldn’t be bankrupt if they got cancer or in an accident was considered a massive affront to individual rights.

Is Socialised healthcare the same as Socialist healthcare?

And if it is is the military and the road network also Socialist? Not trying to cause a row, Cheg, or be awkward. I just think the idea of what is "left" or "right" has shifted significantly over the last 10-15 years, and apparently even more so in the US.

Was it actually about "individual rights", which was the sanitised excuse, or the thought that an individual would contribute to the healthcare of someone else (which is odd really because they're happy for their money to go to shareholders of health insurers instead in greater amounts but that's really not the way they see it!)

I'll defer to you on this Nellers. I wrote it and then tried to research it.

In terms of the left and right shifting maybe not in 10-15 years but overtime it should change.

Maricopa has all but finished reporting I believe fozzy? It's Apache now that is one of the biggest remaining ones and that is massively Biden.

Oh and on the sidebar, I think we can declare mushroom the winner.. I will project that, as Georgia 10,000 it will be 306, local news outlets in Arizona have said Biden will win Arizona. I dont' see North Carolina changing sadly.

There is a documentary about Obamacare which was really good. One of the odder moments was a woman shouting at her senator to “promise you won’t let interfering government hands touch my Medicare”. He promised he wouldn’t to get her out of his office.

Medicare is the federal insurance program for people over 65

No, Cheg, I'm no disputing your point. Rather questioning it. I'm not sure either whether they're the same thing, and if they are why the military and road networks (both centrally funded from tax revenue) aren't considered the same way.

An American who has spent some time in Europe explained to me that America has a right wing party and an extreme right wing party. From what I can tell, people live in terror that someone, somewhere might be getting something from the government that they aren't. In fairness right wing loons in this country are the same.
