Yeah a slogan for an American company, bit of a pointer at how it's going.

I would be surprised if any UK govt in the last 50 years had made serious economic preparations for a pandemic. It would be nice to be proved wrong and see that some government s have been quite sensible and protective On a smaller scale, I think I wrote our companies pandemic plan in early March. Never had one before. I might go back and look at that and see what I would change. It's only because one client demanded we had one. We had a sketchy disaster recovery plan before that. |

I imagine that article is part of the price Johnson has to pay to keep the Torygraph onside. I despair at the state of the nation at the moment. I can't see how we get out from under this ship of fools.

This is a nice summary of why the BLM protests are required. And why Mr Johnson's dropping in of a "new commission to study..." into his gushing praise of all things Winston Churchill in the Torygraph is just a delay/shove under the carpet tactic. bbc.co.uk Look at how much has *not* been done. |

I was working in a regional Government Office in around 2007 and the pandemic planning we did was largely informed by swine flu, the main risk that was foreseen was people finding out the depots where the drugs (taxi something, can’t remember the name) were stored and storming them, so needed troops and police to prevent it, lol, nothing about economic impact and recovery.

But they did a review in 2016, were told what was failing and needed more work, then totally ignored it. Idiots. It's not like we haven't seen more global pandemics in the last few years. Bit of a fucking clue there. |
