That's a fair point. In any event, I don't think personal characterstics such as gender / ethnicity etc will come to the fore in a selection process.
The choices will be plain and simple in terms of ideology and raw electability. And there'll be plenty of women standing to make the point above a moot one anyway.

I think the Pigs in Blankets story is a mark of just how this country is going ot the dogs. Just last week I went out and bought some tiny sausages and some streaky bacon and I made my own!, EU or no EU. Come on Britain pull your socks up.

They didn't have pigs in blankets during the Blitz! Come one, where's your Dunkirk spirit.

(Of course, when I say "they", I mean the people having the shit bombed out of their neighbourhoods. I don't mean the *important* people that actually *mattered*, like Churchill and all those fellas, the ones we *have to* look after as they have the difficult task of making the decisions. *They'll* have had pigs in blankets)

What's all this about 'pigs in blankets'? If we're talking about sausages wrapped in bacon then please use the correct term - kilted sausages.
Thank you.

I'd be much happier if there were a shortage of mince pies. The food of Beelzebub.....

I'll be interested in seeing what Johnson will do for the North that can possibly compensate for the hit expected to the North if we go out without a deal.
It appears to me that his negotiating strategy is going to be all bluff and bluster, and it will run up against an EU which focuses a) On the actual detail - like grownups do and b) Has been building its game plan while we've been docking around for 3 1/2 years. I expect a re-run of the early days after the ref where Brexit Bulldog David Davis and others blistered about how we were going to win win win against the EU, only to cave across the board when it came down to brass tacks.
