I'm going to vote (no surprises here) Labour even though my MP has a 23k majority. Labour were second last time a long way back but 10k votes ahead of UKIP last time. Chances are that, with no Brexit Party candidate to split the vote his majority actually goes up. By voting all I'm doing is minimising his majority, and adding to an irrelevant-in-anything-but-symbolic-terms national vote.

Honestly you could put a blue rosette on a turd down here and it would get elected.

Yes, my MP is that turd. I give you Mark Francois.

NOPE

HG - I'm not politically naive or thick and I do follow politics but my views are at best my own . I'm 50 next year and this is the closest I have ever got to voting.

I shall live with the consequences, calm in the knowledge I didnt condone or condemn it.

Without getting too personal, whilst I'm glad to see a non-voter like Gobi articulating why they won't vote, I did read that as "I'm not voting Tory, 'cos of Boris, I'm not voting Labour, 'cos of Corbyn / policies, but I'm not voting LibDem because there's not many other people who will", and I'm not 100% sure that last rational stands up as well to scrutiny as the first two.

But everyone is entitled to their own approach, and I'd much rather non-voters put some thought into it (as Gobi clearly has) than just not bother at all.

I'll vote because I always have, but the local MP has such a majority that the result is a foregone conclusion no matter what I do.

(I'm one of that majority, so I'm not moaning about this)

Sushi.
I wish all ballot papers had a 'none of the available candidates' box for ppl like Gobi.

That way it's registered that you are not apathetic but have no-one in your constituency that represents what you feel/think/believe.

The closest you can do to this at the moment is 'spoil' your ballot paper. This at least registers that you went to the polling station.

My mum, for the first time in her life is considering spoiling her paper and she's not missed a vote in over 60yrs of being eligible.

I'd possibly vote Plaid this time if I didn't feel the need to vote tactically.

Sorry Larks I was boring myself by the time I reached liberals and should have written about a few of their policies. Possibly if I was in a marginal where they had a chance I would have voted but as I said my local MP is good for the local area so I'm happy to love with him without voting for him.
