Also have you heard of John Major or Michael Heseltine?

Senior figures in the Tory party urge tories to vote against Boris. I'm kind of shrugging about Ashworth. We know it's not entirely unified within Labour. That's not news. THe Tories are equally divided, particularly on Brexit but also on supporting Johnson.

I'm also wondering why you've set up a profile on a running site just to post on the politics thread. I suspect you're not new to this place even if your windy profile is mate.

Definitely a gaff though - publicly saying you're supporting him, and privately saying he's no chance etc is not quite the same as Heseltine / Major at all being open about their perspectives.

Ultracat - whichever side gets in, we will be governed by a bunch of liars.

I've kinda stopped following much of the politics news recently. Decided long ago where my X is anyway.

And the campaigning is same as always. Who can promise the most to everyone and get away with it, whilst lying about their opponents and seeing how much mud they can get to stick.

Nobody will be coming up of this looking good.

Interesting read on the level and source of dishonest election advertising here.

I’d see myself as slightly right of centre. Historically I’ve voted Conservative, but will not be this time round as I feel they have gone way too far to the right for my liking. As an immigrant myself I can hardly support their anti-immigration bias.

I can’t bring myself to vote Labour either though. My current MP is Labour and has been good. But much like those Scots who said they wouldn’t like the SNP claiming their vote as an endorsement for independence I don’t want Corbyn claiming my vote as an endorsement of him. I can’t help feel that if we had a stronger more moderate opposition that we wouldn’t be in the state we currently find ourselves.
