I think I noticed JC lying when he said he supported remain some time ago, then did fuck all about it, and now he is apparently neutral.

Well he didn't lie, he gave a number on a scale that showed he backed remain on balance but wasn't a Europhile.

I think before any Govt reviews the BBC they should focus on the lack of credible journalism and independence in the majority of newspapers - most are owned by wealthy families and individuals with their own political agendas and like to push their views. But of course, that won't happen...! Actually, C4 is my go-to for reasonable political insight on TV. Sadly, not enough people watch it! They got Jacob ReesMogg to admit that it might take generations to recover from any economic shock from Brexit - why isn't that all over the election news..!? |

I've read comments on a Jeremy Vi e thread this morning that the picture of the 4 year old is fake anyway so BoJo was right to ignore it. *face-palm*

The ‘announcement’ about the Beeb is just a CCHQ smokescreen to try and take the heat out of bojos bizarre don’t look at the sick kid interview. Gives the Tory papers an easy front page today. I hear a telegraph writer is happily supporting a conspiracy theory that the picture of the sick kid is fake. Seems the telegraph might cross the line from BoJo sympathisers to post truth news. Labour should probably just stick jezza in a broom cupboard and let some of the more media savvy lot hammer home on the nhs now. |

I've been arguing about that on FB (that was the source of the media bias comment I mentioned earlier) and the post which got immediately shared widely without question was from a woman claiming to be a friend of someone working at the hospital and a) told everyone that the press mob had already been called before the photo was taken, b) that the photo was taken on the mother's phone (despite the press already being there?) and c) passing judgement on the mother for allowing her child to be put in that position. It seemed pretty nasty to me, wasn't convincing and has since been taken down.

To be fair, the supporters of both main parties are quick to play the conspiracy card. Hardline Corbyn supporters are pretty good at it in my experience.

"... and the post which got immediately shared widely without question was from a woman claiming to be a friend of someone working at the hospital..." If you're a Twitter user, it's not difficult to find that exact post from multiple users. I don't mean retweets, shares or whatever, but exactly the same tweet originating from many different user accounts. The senior nurse mentioned in the tweet certainly has a lot of good friends... |
