I might not jda, but a written constitution would be in constant discussion and amendment, which an awful lot of people would really dislike, as they will really dislike this judgement. By the way, today was not about brexit, it was about the prime minister acting unlawfully, but that will get lost in the brexit noise. |

So, after the decision today, any previous PM (apart from Theresa May, perhaps), would have felt honour-bound to resign. But of course Johnson will not resign, because in the new politics we have now, honour plays no part. Did Brexit do this, or was it a symptom? I seriously worry about whether we can ever get back to where we were before, however Brexit turns out.

Wasn't there a clause in the Benn act that said the gvt had to bring the WA back one more time?

It's all part of the right-wing populist playbook - treat everything as an 'opinion', with which anyone, however ill-informed, can disagree and voice their own 'opinion'. But if 11 of the most senior judges in the country agree unanimously, I'd say we can treat that as law, no further questions.
