Do not keep running through it, PLEASE!!! I first started getting symptoms in around October last year, and was really pleased that I could run through it and that after an initial couple of minutes, I could run with virtually no pain at all.
I continued doing this until January - and then I couldn't run another step. I'm *just* starting back running now, and I'm still not without pain.
I had a cortisone injection (like EP, he did it then and there) - but he wouldn't inject my PF tendon as he said that it could a) cause longer term damage and b) didn't trust me not to train on it (it'll remove the pain, but not the problem). He injected my spring tendon which was also inflamed.
I now wear a night splint every night, and higher arched shoes which is helped but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't keep running on it whilst you've still got pain (and I'm not just talking about pain when you're running).
Hendo has had similar for months and I was sad to see him in *such* a bad way with it two weeks ago. Believe me, it's best to have a couple of weeks of crosstraining instead rather than risk making things so bad you can't continue.
On the positive side, my doc said I could cycle as much as I wanted.

GG, mine also niggled when I started running again after injury. It seems fine now, though I notice it wad a bit tight yesterday but I've also got calf tightness in that side, which I know is due to pushing off with my toes.

RachE thanks so much for that, I have to say the pain on a morning is pretty bad now and sitting at my desk now I'm getting what feels like pins & needles in it when I first get up it hurts to walk on but does get better after a while. Like you said I have been thinking I'm running with very little/no pain but I have been worried about getting to later years and suffering like my dad has done, figure you need your feet!! I'll ease off and get to the gym & cross train instead. (and get myself a cricket ball!) thanks for the tip
I think I am being told by higher powers not to run... I seem to be dogged by illness & injury which is a bugger as I started the year off so well. Its a complicated affair this running malarkey isnt it!
Meglet - watch yourself too you dont want another injury.

Yeah, i'm also getting very twitchy about running on this. I said to myself i'd run on it for a week as I was told it was still a mild case, and if it was getting worse then I'd stop. I don't think I can do that much damage in a week? Or can I?
Seeing a sports rehab guy at work tomorrow, hoping he can help. If i book in with my normal physio, is there much a physio can do?

I have it in both feet and can't walk from my car to the office in the morning (about 20 yards) without being in complete agony. Haven't run for 3 months, have had the PF for over a year, and have had the injections, twice. They are beyond painful, and hurt for 2-3 weeks afterwards. They did allow me to have a spell of 6 months running, but evenutally they wear off.
PF is not to be taken lightly. If you can still even walk pain free you've not even seen the half of it.

Consultant being seen in a couple of weeks (Private). As far as I can see it's either shockwave therapy or surgery now as the only options left.

Wow I genuinely didnt think it was THAT serious, Hendo I hope you get better soon ((((H)))))
Right my mind is made up, as hard as it is knowing I have the GNR around the corner I'll work at keeping my fitness up with crosstraining and do what I need to to get this sorted before it gets too bad. Starting with Jock Itch's link - thanks
Silly question but one the girls could possibly answer - should I avoid wearing heels or will they be better for it? Apols is that is a really dumb question, figuring its pretty much ok through the day and painful in barefeet.
