Conditions much better than forecast and expected at Hazlehead. At 9am I thought it was going to be truly horrific as snow blizzards hit but it came to nothing and was dry for the run- very grateful!

Nice to run Somerdale’s B course (a quite enjoyable one lapper) this morning.

For all the grief previously on social media about cancellations it must be good for @The Mussile to offer up an alternate route!

Pre run and briefing absolutely calm and dry, quickly changed into just wind and heavy rain … oh well. Enjoyable morning!

And what a glorious morning it was too 😂

Sorry to dash off straight afterwards, but we both made it round Giants Tooth in one piece 💪

I ran in the Southampton parkrun this morning, as all the other locals were cancelled due to the strong winds and heavy rain. It was a last minute decision to proceed by the organisers, at 8am, not leaving much time for those living further away to get there. There were 801 runners, meaning that it was quite congested for the first k or so. We were nearly blown sideways at times 🌬

It wasn’t a morning for hanging around. Well done on racing later

Having read some comments on FB from parkrunners for whom their chosen NYD event was cancelled after the overnight rain, it occurs to me that anyone who criticises the event team for a cancellation would have been better served by moaning about it to themselves in their heads, or maybe to those around them.

Otherwise they appear to be bell-ends of the highest order when they avoid the self censorship and share their opinions publicly.

It’s the entitlement. We went to one this morning we’d planned. We got there early enough to go elsewhere if it cancelled at short notice.
