As someone who does the posts that ask for volunteers it can be incredibly draining to repeatedly ask for volunteers to come forward week in week out.

It feels like you are being needy or pleady like a child. Yes some of ours vary between humourous right through to outright naggy. Yes we have stated the % of runners who have volunteered vs those who have run. Yes we have threatened cancellation. Yes I wish we didn't have to. Yes we will use all methods necessary in future.

Must be incredibly frustrating for you tbh.

Not really, but I wouldn't blame them. (Writing as part of the problem.)

Oh it is.

Not put an appeal out yet for this week although roster is less than half full. I might not bother and if get to our Thursday night cut off see if we are going ahead or not. There will be some interesting comments if we have to cancel...................

Thursday night cut off? We had no marshals last Thursday night, roster was threadbare. Put out our second appeal Friday morning, ended up with an abundance of volunteers.

Burned out motorbike blocking the busiest section of the course where we also have 2 way traffic. I’m off to look for myself, as if vi didn’t have enough to do this week!

@StuH we have a policy of a 20:00 on Thursday decsion point. A "cut off" point so that people can make alternative arrangements if we do end up cancelling - that includes those who have volunteered.

We haven't used it yet but have come very very close. To the point where we have had a chat between RD and ED on Thursday night and discussed giving it another shout out etc.
