Notched up 200 today after about a four week wait due to other things on a Saturday morning. It wasn’t pretty but I haven’t been training well so to be expected

Annoyingly I was for the second run in a row one second away from one of the three remaining stop watch bingo times

Todays result though might just give me the motivation to lose a bit of lard and train properly.

Oooh, nice round number as well of 175 at my home run and 200 total.

Not sure when Trevs went mixed. I was there 97 onwards and it was mixed then. I don't think it was much before my time, though certainly long enough that every year above me had been mixed too.

It was mixed by 1990 but I think only recently, maybe a year or so max. Still tales going around that the hexagonal shapes it was designed of were intended for a female only cohort because apparently 90deg was intimidating 😮

That's weird @Neal . Looks OK now; I was hoping to run it today but I couldn't make it. It looked like a lovely park for a run.

I'm trying to remember the yarn we were told. I think it was along the lines of hexagons being a modern architectural interpretation, of probably the castle. We were also warned - especially when drunk - about walking into windows because of unfamiliar angles; though that seemed ridiculously unlikely.

Anyone else think there is a bit of a trend towards events being snarky with their volunteer appeals? One of the Scotland events I follow on FB is getting worse and worse as time goes on. Threat of deadlines and cancellations, fingers getting pointed at people who attend parkrun to run.

I understand it must be a pain getting volunteers every week but isn't there good practice guidance given to all teams? Some teams have brilliant volunteer appeals. Others are awful.

Not on Facebook, but it was very, very open recently when I visited Penrose in Cornwall. RD really trying to shame locals, saying "we know who comes regularly and never volunteers", "come on, we are just asking for 2 or 3 times a year", "we are all runners too, you know" and finishing off her speech with something along the lines of "enough of the bollocking, let's start". It did leave a bit of a sour taste, as a tourist, and really not sure if a speech like that would encourage anyone to stick their name down anyway.
