I'm guessing that was the case for Exe too Jovi, as they showed a photo of a deconstructed stop watch - very unlucky to have two fail (they said something about the connection point with the cable failing on at least one of them.)
A week or two ago Storm Hannah blew their PA system down the riverbank
We had a female first finisher for the first time ever last week, and for the second time on Saturday past - but the RD didn't publicise the second one, on account of her being under 11...
The day it happened to ours the backup timer had unfortunately pressed stop rather than lap so we couldn't use the backup timer either. The law of sod strikes!
So, I'm looking for a decent parkrun in East-ish London.
It'll be with the boy. We're down for the cup final next weekend and staying in Walthamstow Village. I will have a Travelcard for the day because I need to get to Wembley after lunch.
The boy isn't super-keen on running off-road, so I've already kind of discounted Walthamstow as that's laps of a sportsground.
What we really want is a decent sized run, on tarmac, with multiple cheap cooked breakfast options for afterwards, that won't take us too long to get to/from.
Was thinking of Hackney Marshes, but that's an out-back-out-and-back so not sure if he'll go for that.
Finsbury Park would fit the bill I think - on tarmac, a couple of ups and downs, and the finish is right by the cafe (and there will be other options nearby I am sure). Very friendly also.
Ironically Finsbury Park was my "home" run when I first registered with parkrun, but I have never run there, and in fact didn't run parkrun at all until some years later.
