Bonners, I imagine the main sticking point would be (I assume) a significant chunk of cash needing to flow towards parkrun for the privilege

@princesszee you could go a couple of miles down the road from Heaton and do Chadderton Hall a lot quieter but not quite as fast (4xup a sharp hill).

I am looking at Wythenshawe for a pre-marathon bimble, as it looks like the shortest taxi ride from the airport after our crack of dawn flight. 9.30 starts are so much more relaxing!

According to the Tourist Tool the nearest three to the airport are:

1) Wilmslow

2) Cheadle Hulme

3) Wythenshawe

But that is based on "as the Crow flies". Wythenshawe is probably the closest by road.

Wythenshawe is a flat half grass half tarmac course, depending on which one they use after the rain. A nice park for a run around, some interesting benches along the northern fence

If you put your Athlete ID into the settings you can get it to hide the parkruns you have already done.

Love it! Thanks, cw. That will be very useful when we're planning weekends away.

Tourist tool is immense. Pre-Google charging for maps use it would calculate closest based upon driving time, which for me (living near Bristol with the Welsh coast line and various motorways etc) meant that a "closest" run as the crow flies is actually a completely different prospect.

On one of the facebook groups, the chap who maintains it says there are developments in the background which he'll update it all with at some point.

It's also got an option to display volunteer tourism, for them that are considering that also!
