Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I love all the parkrun April Fools, have seen some fab ones today. I really enjoyed the one about pot luck finish positions where you just take your token from a bucket. and Stonehaven did one where you can subscribe to various levels bronze, silver, gold etc, which gets you free use of the travellator to get up the hill, t-shirts etc

Littleport parkrun had an appeal for locals with spare soil or gravel to help build some hills on the course in an attempt to keep the number of tourists down.

It might be crap April Fool jokes making me grumpy, but having worked in Littleport I'd be surprised if that many people want to visit...

An oddity - the .strava. logo is missing from the parkrun links (a change since the weekend I think). Any insider knowledge as to why?

There were some comments in the FB parkrun discussion group. Speculation that the partnership with strava had come to an end, but no-one seemed to know if this was true or not.

You'd have to presume it was something like that. I quite liked being able to stalk other parkrunners easily through their strava profiles etc, but it did feel a bit like parkrun had put all their eggs in one run-logging basket when competitors like FE etc didn't get a look in.

I'm not sure I ever clicked on the strava icon on the parkrun website, but I gained a few followers on strava who more than likely found me via parkrun. Perhaps there was a GDPR issue?

Has anyone suggested that it be replaced by a fetch logo? 😁

Down in Manchester this weekend as bf running the marathon. Was looking for a parkrun I can cross the finish line before him (my only chance as he will be taking it easy for Sunday) and think it’s going to be Heaton as closest to where we are staying. Wow it looks like a busy one!!
