As an RD, the weekly photo theme started bugging me - mainly as I don't think I need a photographer when I'm struggling to fill other roles. I was tempted to send, from our own event social media account, a response along the lines of: "This week's theme should be `timed 5k run'."

You are right though...I think that this discussion might have run it's course (pun intended).
I am volunteering tomorrow but only because I want to save my legs for a long run on Sunday.

Sigh
Going to Erddig parkrun for the first time tomorrow, which will take me to a total of 20 different events I've visited...of which 9 (incl. Erddig) are 'new'ish events (Cannock Chase, Sandwell Valley, Macclesfield, Perry Hall, The Wammy, Dudley, Northwich, Crewe, Erddig).

We've always ignored the weekly photo theme.
I'm rather chuffed to be RDing tomorrow as we have someone doing their 250th, and he's our first 'home-grown' 250er, who ran our inaugural event five and a bit years ago and has done the vast majority of his runs here. He's been a regular volunteer as well. It'll be nice to applaud his loyalty

I ignore everything from HQ. To me, it's a times run, no more, no less. I dislike all the sideshow nonsense. I will hang about for tea at my home run to chat to friends though. I'm very much in a minority though - seems a lot of folk like try hards

I’ve managed to miss that parkrun even has a weekly photo theme, so I suppose it’s not a big thing at York. Speaking of York, the horses are taking back the Knavesmire this week.
