There isn't anywhere to serve post-parkrun cake at Keswick unless you bring your own table, but Workington nearly always has parkrun-milestone cake on offer with the post-run coffee.

When I attended Ellon Parkrun for a friends 50th Parkrun, he donated a bottle of wine for the 50th finisher, a nice touch. I may do this for my 200th Parkrun.

It's variable with us if there's cake. I would say cake is not the norm though we do have cake on our birthday. We have only a small table at the finish which doesn't help.

Bedfont often has cake, in fact if we go and there isnt any I always find it weird... but I never eat it as I want to go and warm down.

I dont think I have ever seen cake at Crane though. Its very dependent on the venue in my experience.

Group of club mates, including me, are looking at Southwark for a fast flat tarmac one this Saturday. Any course advice. Will only be about 6 of us, mostly in the 18:30-20 min range. Is it a good course for that sort of run?

I haven't looked at the stats, but Southwark feels like its getting busier on average as the months tick by, so for you speedier runners its getting more important to position effectively at the start than it was a year or two ago.

You'll have noticed from the roster that its the monthly pacer event next Saturday.

Other than that, the usual for greater than 2 lap courses - you'll undoubtedly find slower runners like me doing our best to give you the room but with other parkrunners scattering themselves in your way on the second lap. The short part in the middle of the lap where runners are heading in both directions, despite being more than plentifully wide, is worth a mental note in that respect.

Thank you premierfella! That's perfect information. Sounds fine to run fast and we'll be careful passing 😊

I think Southwark is a bit too crowded to be super speedy, Stu had to do a lot of weaving and lost quite a bit of time. But it’s Flat and good surface so does have potential
