Great time had by all at Fell Foot this morning - well worth getting there at 7:30 to do a last minute course check in the dark. Finally left the cafe just before midday. Only slight blemish was a very odd voluntourist - turned up with her own Hi-Viz and managed to spend the whole time scanning barcodes without, so far as I could tell, actually engaging with anybody. Obviously, we're grateful for the help but it seemed strange she appeared to be deriving so little enjoyment from it. |

There were a few cancellations around us at Sandhurst and we had a larger than usual turnout, including tourists from Bushy. Running was ok as there was very little rain, but one random dog walker decided to pass through the finish funnel which confused the timers. |

Southampton went ahead. It was really windy and quite damp. With Bushy off, it was the highest UK attendance today I believe, but a lot lower than on Christmas day.

Sutton Park parkrun went ahead. I think getting soaked walking across Sutton Park was worth it. I'm still trying to get warm. There are now concerns about icy conditions on Saturday.

That is odd, but then you never know what’s going on with people, she may have been ND and likes to help but not social interaction |

Revisited Fareham as it was a safer bet than many of its neighbours against cancelling. As most of us experienced today, really buffeted by the wind but a course PB of 25 seconds has started the year off well and a hunt for a sub 23:30 is now on for the year
