Has anyone visited the Shed at Chasewater parkrun?

I highly recommend their carrot cake, but from what I've been told you can't go wrong with any of their cakes, their cups can however be a little confusing.

I'm told the parkrun won't be on for Christmas day, but if it is on for New Years day (which I'm assuming is dependent upon the above mentioned cake being available) I'm planning to start the year by finishing last there, and hopefully eating some cake.

Just added a link to the Baking Thread on the side bar. Gene's dark chocolate ginger tiffin recipe is there on p562. I'll put a link in to the Points of Interest page so you can add and see people's cafe reviews.

Gene, you spoiled it by adding ginger. ;)

One of two things I really don't like to eat. The other is liver, which doesn't normally occur in cake! (Although I do like liver pate - one for the "I do have this but not that watch" forum!)

Cake. Hmm - Diwali - anyone got Diwali themed post-parkrun treats?

Can I combine the recent topics and suggest that mince pies after the Xmas Day parkrun are one of the year's highlights.

Route 7 Café - the post run choice at Aviemore parkrun has received a TripAdvisor award of Excellence for the second year running. Unfortunately I'm so slow, by the time I'm finished I can never get a seat there! :(

You'll have to turn up at Aviemore on a bad weather day when numbers of parkrunners and others are lowered. Excellent cafe that merits it's popularity.

I've never done a Xmas Day parkrun. I'll be in Exmouth so I will see if they are doing it, but the big thing in Exmouth on that day has always been the Xmas Day swim, and I'd be surprised if both are allowed to go ahead as the parking is usually horrendous.
But if there are mince pies.....
