I went to Queens. I forgot it was 9.30am. And had a flap. I wasn’t the only one. 😂 So that’s Q in the bag. It was lovely. I liked Ireland. I’d happily visit again.

Does anyone know what happens if you have an X in your name? Can you still get the letters for your name badge or does it ignore the X ??

I went and helped out down at junior parkrun this morning. The chap who set up Torbay Velopark and Parke parkruns is looking at setting up a junior event in Torquay, and he asked me if I’d be interested with that, so I said I’d go down to Torbay today to see what it’s all about, having never attended juniors before. From an organisation point of view it’s much simpler than the Saturday 5K event, far fewer volunteers needed, course setup very simple, only about 30-40 kids, and all done and dusted and packed away with the results processed by 9:40. It was great seeing the kids and families, and it was just a nice atmosphere down there. The guy said the council are up for the Torquay event, but warned it could take months yet. I think it would be roughly 1 week in 5 so it’s not too onerous, but I have said I still want to think about it as it is still a commitment with my other stuff. In terms of ‘volunteer time budget’ I’ve recently taken on the membership secretary role of my club so just getting to grips with that but I’m tempted with junior parkrun, but we shall seen if/when the time comes.

Minnie Mad I think it ignores it. But find a parkrunner with an X in their name and put their number in the app to see what happens.
