Thanks for the well dones. I'm very pleased with my run but would've liked a bit more off. Next time. 🀣

Solo - I'm sure we would've had a battle to the finish...πŸ˜… The course is fast but not pancake flat and actually quite a tricky one to pace as it has a mild down at the start, which so many go off fast then the middle climbs. A lovely evening for racing and chuffed to Podium. As they say you have to be in it to win it. 😁

Why are you undecided about the Master HM qualification? They are excellent experiences! πŸ™‚

WP - hopefully all in the house were safe! Hope your sleep soon improves!

TS - yes, easing off a bit certainly helps. Always difficult to do when in high marathon training but the right call and worth it on this occasion. 😁

Hope that knee behaves!

Canute - very good progress!

Widnes parkrun was really lovely. A very attractive park and a fast course although we took it steady as long run tomorrow.

Initially I thought that you would be disappointed, @Hilly: results were only showing gun time, then the chip times came up later! Well done on the sub 21! Went to Alex Park to watch today and one of the ex uni girls ran her quickest time for five years; first time she had run there and couldn't believe how quick the course was. First finisher, also, and was immediately asked to scan barcodes!

And whilst there I got talking to another spectator, and part the way through the conversation we realised we had met before, the last time probably being 1982 when he ran for the uni team.

Managed 4 x 45 seconds, then 4 x one minute, all with around a minute recovery. By far the most since Feb; just hope I didn't do too much. All very slow. Then two sessions at a sunny Old Trafford; a shame Lancs' performance didn't match the weather.

Sounds a decent amount, @Canute: excellent progress!

Hope that the knee eases, @Torque Steer !

Wordle in three.

I am enjoying following the return to fitness of the 'three amigos' and above all I am impressed by the patience you all have. I honestly couldn't see me doing it!

@Welshpoppy hopefully they got it under control quickly. I think you are the Wordle queenπŸ˜‰ Four for me today.

@Hilly that would have been me running the first mile too fast and hanging on till the finish πŸ˜† With regards to the master's, my budget isn't what it used to be, now that I am living on my own again. If I qualified the race would more than likely be up North which would make it expensive for me. Still pondering what would give me the most satisfaction with my running.

Forgot to say I did Norwich parkrun again today. Stomach was much better 😊 but very humid and quite windy in places. Still didn't get my HR up to where it should be but it has been a busy week. Anyway a SB of 21.32, third lady and overall age category winner. The FV60 course record is 21.10 and has stood since 2012.

Posted before I finished. Solo, I meant to add that you could still try for the qualifier as I believe you would get it and wait to see where the race is before deciding if you could do it or not.

@Canute. Looking very positive πŸ‘
@Torque Steer hope the gardening did not involve too much crouching or bending and the knee has settled.
Great parkrun result @Solo, even if it fell just short of the F60 course record.
@alehouse, good to see you making progress too. Early days but looking good so far.
@Mick6. Hope you are still doing well. Progress on the running front?

'Usual' Sunday long run with half a dozen strides towards the end; 102 min / 16.4 km. HR 129/148 a bit higher than would have liked. But still got a PL51 rating so I guess OK.

alehouse - I was in the final pen with it being such a loaded field and took me 50 seconds to walk to the chip mat. Thank goodness for chips on this occasion.

Well done to your the uni girl and well done you on the progress. All looking good!

Nice to meet someone from your uni days! 😊

@Hilly I know that is an option but if I did qualify and then decide to not run it would be depriving someone else of the opportunity. I will see how my training goes over the next few weeks. There were some incredibly fast times on Friday. I couldn't believe the FV55 category!
Hope the 20 goes well today. Has your achilles settled again?

Thanks @NZD Building nice consistency with your Sunday runs. Are you training for any particular race? If you have said, sorry, this thread can be very busy!

@Solo. Not definite at this point but potentially a HM coming up mid-Jan. Keen to retain a degree of HM readiness so not starting from scratch when do go into training mode. Hmm, guess that will be soon! Had been keen to get in a nice flat 10k or HM during the middle to latter part of this year but opportunity for that is just about over.

Estuary loop again this morning - 102 min / 8.4 km, including 6x ~450 m efforts at ~4:40/km.

Oops!!! That should have been 49 min / 8.4 km! The 102 was of course from yesterday. Yikes.
