Thanks for the feedback everyone. Will stay more or less with what currently doing, perhaps keeping to ~100 m top end. Now to improve the running efficiency. Like the idea of your running coach, Hilly. Hilly that is ulta impressive for an F74. AG well over 100%. And parkrun times still trending down! solo: Yes, nice to see the records still available, albeit unofficially. Does provide some added incentive for 'slightly' competitive types! WP: no concerns about shoe fit when ordering online? Able to return if don't fit well? I'm tempted to try out the Metaspeed Sky Paris but rather expensive from brick & mortar stores. Available from one online retailer for about NZ$100 less (assuming fit is good!). Hope the Achilles settles soon. NZC: Easy cafe walk sounds very pleasant. Lovely morning up here. A bit variable this afternoon but still OK. Rest (as in work) day for me. A bit of tightness in upper R leg/groin area from yesterday. If OK in the morning will aim to do Millwater (yet again!). |

NZD: Oh I have concerns about the fit and size especially as the shoes are a size smaller than normal I opted for half a size smaller but I can send back and get normal size if too small. Can you try them on in a store first and then a little naughty buy online? $100 is a lot of money to save. NZC: Good to see you here and enjoying your running/walking with dog. |

WP, yes but that is a little naughty, as you said! Tempting but would feel bad about it. ...?

NZD must say that I found the route for parkrun in Cornwall Park Aukland a little strange. Such a huge and beautiful park, yet they chose an odd route round trees and grass verges- glad I wasn't leading, I had no clue where we were headed next. The nearby cafe in the park was however very good. Hilly I've done Alexandra Park. My daughter lives in Didsbury so have done quite a few of the Manchester ones. We are in Keswick now. Torrential rain today, so hoping parkrun is unaffected tomorrow. |

Oooh great. I do a two mile warm up up the railway path before the start. I'll wear my purple 25 volunteer T shirt so you can spot me. I also hang around for Mrs OO and then go to the cafe in Fitz Park by the museum.

NZD - my hubby fancies the Metaspeed Paris, but we're waiting to see if they come.down a bit... Both of us favour the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro range. I love the 2s and him the 3s. NZC - I love a good walk with hubby and a cafe at the end. Yes, I think age grading gets easier, if not the running. The older you get the faster you once were...At my best when running sub 3 marathon I was 84% yet last year I achieved 90.6% at parkrun. We have to remember though that parkrun uses the old 2006 age grading factors. If they used the most recent ones we'd all be a bit lower as the top records have changed... 0061 - Manchester isn't far from us so we occasionally pop over for a fast parkrun. We've done quite a dew but not all of them. Have good parkrun tomorrow! Off to Cardiff for a few days. Hubby doing Podium 5k and I'm possibly doing Barry Island parkrun. After the age record, but we will see...😅 |

I'll wear a Fetch top, @OO61, as will eL Bee!, who currently plans to run. We'll be going for coffee afterwards too.

back in circulation after an interesting weather break - virtually everything in three days. Running form is quite elusive. Some years ago my physio, who was also a running analyst videoed me from all angles on the treadmill at varying speeds. We discovered that, as a result of an old, traumatic injury to my right knee & ankle that my right leg had developed the habit of describing a circular motion to effectively reduce the load going through the leg. A lot of quite minute strengthening & balancing exercises later managed to eliminate it and have a normal gait. So if you can get it done it could reap benefits and help prevent injury down the line. I see some parkrun tourism going on this weekend:-) 0061 I smiled at your comment about the sea! As a youth it never really bothered me up there but my first trip to the Med persuaded me never to go swimming in the North Sea again. WP we were coming back home from the Dales and stopped in Grassington, a picturesque little village. Sad to see a number of empty shops including a long established outdoor store. Went into a very traditional outfitters as Mrs TS wanted a Barbour hat. Talking to the owner and she told us that customers often come in, try on the very expensive clothing they stock, and then google price comparisons on-line, sometimes whilst still in the shop!! If you use a shop, buy there, otherwise thaek the risk of on-line shopping. Hilly I live in Harrogate - if you ever ran the Harrogate 10K race before they moved it out of town, I live half way up that steep hill on the edge of town. I always tried to run that race despite varying degrees of fitness over the years and running twice past my house took some doing at times!! You reminded me that I have a box fresh pair of Adidas Adizeros awaiting my return to raster running - they have been on the shelf for some considerable time!! NZD I think Canute and I may be engaged in a struggle akin to two bald men fighting over a comb (apologies to Canute if that is not an apposite description!) Canute - are you doing parkun tomorrow- if so good luck alehouse dried out yet? |
