I could come off the drugs.

Has any GP *ever* taken a patient OFF BP drugs once they've been prescribed?

I agree in principle NordRunner 👍, however, my fear is exactly as AndyS says; figure if I accepted now, it would be for life and onto to the slippery slope before my time 🤔🤣

I understand your view completely Boffin , due to my high cholesterol and heart disease in my family my gp and hospital consultant recommended statins 6years or so ago, by changing my diet to vegetarian then vegan I did manage to bring cholera down, however now it is higher than ever so have decided it's time to take the advice of the professionals. Good luck.

Who knows Mrs Jigs; perhaps you have the new cure for cholera 🤔🙂

Encouraged by yesterday's BP reading and hoping for a downward trend... not so much 🙄 just done another reading 157/104... the diastolic (104) is more frustrating at the moment ... no worries, Rome wasn't built in a day etc etc

I would think if you have a predisposition for high cholesterol Mrs Jigs, then perhaps trying to control with diet alone may have been a tall order 🤔

It did work for a few years, I will continue with majority vegan diet but occasionally have cheese, i will never go back to eating animals.

Yes, my wife. Our current doctor believed she has whitecoat hypertension disorder and reduced her BP meds before taking her off them, whereas our previous GP didn't believe in the disorder and put her on the meds in the first place.

Your current GP did well Fenland Flier, not to recognise whitecoat hypertension is regretable 😟 leading to misdiagnosis and needs not needed. Glad she got it sorted 👍
