I have two toddler memories: dangling on that hook by my cheek and Tessa, our neighbours dog!

I think it's well established that most early memories are fabrications, sometimes things you've been told about and have subsequently created a false memory of, rather than an actual memory of the event itself.

Hell, most recent memories are fabrications, in part at least :-)

:)

I've written a journal on and off since I was a teenager. I got some of the volumes out yesterday and read them. It was funny to read stuff I'd forgotten about. 🤣

Oh, I have vivid memories being discovered dangling by my cheek, of the anger of my mother.
The dog is Proustian: I can still smell her...

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I was 3 years and 3 months old when my younger sister was born, I recall my older sister (5years) telling me that she had pinched me when I was a baby, so I pinched my new sister!

I clearly remember having chicken pox as a toddler, as did my siblings, I couldn’t have been very old as I recall we all slept downstairs and I can still picture where my cot was in the room.

I only had one birthday party as a child, when I was 5, I can remember my favourite present was a pop up book.

I can remember getting a little toy dog one Christmas that sat up on its back legs and barked. I can remember the swing we had in the back garden.

I remember the blue handmade crib for my doll. My grandfather made it.

Another couple of presents I remember were a red 'petite' typewriter and a blackboard with chalks.

Eynsham the Red Knows Rain Dear
For several years as a young teen I made a balsa wood crib scene (the characters came from a jumble sale) which I back lit with a bicycle lamp bulb and battery.
