"Advocaat and lemonade" was what small children were allowed at New Year in our family. Same here, really liked it iirc. |

When I (aged 7-10) made Snowballs for my Mum I was sometimes allowed to "sample" the drink "to make sure I had mixed it correctly."

port and lemon ftw All my under-age drinking was port and lemon. I didn't progress to wine until I was a student (Italian red, called Tonino, 50p a bottle from the student bar) and then eventually as a proper grown-up to gin* and tonic. And hence to appalling hangovers until I saw sense *Never really liked gin but kept trying to. What I did like, but haven't seen for years, was Chambéry instead of Martini. Nicer herbiness. |
