Another favourite of my Nans was Babycham. I was surprised that you can still buy it.

"Advocaat and lemonade" was what small children were allowed at New Year in our family. At some unspecified point we graduated on to Martini and lemonade, which I greatly preferred.

My nan used to make a mean snowball at Christmas. And we had babycham - probably both at new year. Christmas Day was shandy for me most years too. I’d probably drink the equivalent of about 2 pints of beer every year, but it was shandy so that’s ok

Babycham is my Christmas drink. I don’t like wine so have a 4 pack of Babycham, which I drink out of a Babycham glass Snowballs and Cherry B also feature.

Not with the Babycham, I'd say, but the snowball is worth a try

Cherry brandy! I'd forgotten that. I did buy some Babycham once as an adult, but only once.
