Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Butlins Skegness was where we went Yaaay !! Plus caravaning down the road at Chapel St Leonards

On my doorstep almost. Butlins Skeg once with parents and grandparents, Ingoldmells in a caravan once with a mate, Chapel with a girlfriend, her sister and partner.

Rare we holidayed as children but my wife's family did every year. Skegness and Scarborough being just two.

And once we went to a caravan in Cornwall as my mother’s eldest sister lived near Penzance. My mother managed to set fire to the curtains.

From when I was 11 we went to Devon and Cornwall every year until my parents discovered Abroad. VERY long way from Kilmarnock, with no motorway at the top and bottom and service stations that were a toilet block in a muddy field. We loved it :)

Our family holidays often included random other people - the elderly widow next door, my mum's cousin Anne who was about midway in age between Mum and me, my Aunt Mollie who was fantastic but was married to a useless man who didn't see the point of going away on holiday. I don't remember this being considered at all unusual.

Bridlington, Scarborough, Filey, Skegness, Blackpool and on one exciting occasion, Rhyl. Eventually, it was just Brid every year as my Mum loved it there so much. I think the Rhyl holiday was the only time my Mum ever left England.
